Harrogate district strategic partnership

What we do

What is the role of the HDSP?

The role of the HDSP is to provide leadership and to drive forward action in relation to identified issues where cross-cutting working would deliver benefits of co-ordination, resource management or avoidance of duplication.

The intention is to plan work jointly and to promote partnership work to deliver added value to the communities we serve. The aim of the Partnership is to improve the economic, social and environmental well being and work to reduce health inequalities in the Harrogate District for both its residents and visitors.

The delivery mechanism for the Partnership is through the Harrogate District Partnership Plan.

The vision that underpins the work of the Partnership and forms the focus for the Sustainable Community Strategy is simple:

"Working together to enhance the many and varied communities, economies and environment of our towns and dales, we will make the District a place where people are valued and protected and where access, opportunity, prosperity and support are available to all."

This vision, achieved through detailed consultation and from the first Community Conference, aims to establish a framework whereby everyone can combine their energy and resources to not only retain the unique characteristics of the District but also to ensure that all aspects of the community share in the benefits and success it brings.
